“Foundation scandals tend to be about pay and perks, but the real scandal is how much money is pissed away on activities that have no impact. Billions are wasted on ineffective philanthropy,” says Michael Porter, a management guru at the Harvard Business School
The Dasra dynamic model for change is founded on the understanding that socially-based, non profit organizations (NPOs) require strong internal organizational systems to successfully fulfill their missions. To accomplish this, Dasra works with an organization to maximize its efficiency, scale and impact. Dasra begins the partnership with a rigorous needs assessment gauging the organization’s commitment to strengthen its programs, evaluating the skill-set of the staff and jointly developing intervention strategies.
After successfully completing this initial phase, Dasra and the NPO evaluate whether a longer-term partnership (3-5 years) makes sense. At that point, Dasra and the organization will co-create an overarching strategy that strengthens internal systems to maximize the efficiency and breadth of the services the organization provides. A multi-pronged approach is used to realize this systemic change, including Incubation, Organizational Development, Peer to Peer Learning Exchanges and Donor Education.
