Helping them rise above their station
The following article appeared in DNA India on February 11, 2007, and was written by Dasra volunteer Robbie Whelan. The article describes the work of Dasra partner Ruchika Social Service Organization, a Bhubaneswar-based organization headed by Mrs. Inderjit Khurana. Mrs. Khurana was honored with the 2007 World Children's Prize for the Rights of the Child (WCPRC), for which she will travel in April to Mariefred, Sweden to receive her award, along with her share of a $60,000 honorarium to assist with Ruchika's work.
