While talking about philanthropy in India and what philanthropists should do differently in the country, Aditi Kothari, Executive Vice President at DSP Investment Managers Pvt. Ltd said, “I think philanthropists need to give more strategically. Through my circles, I meet philanthropists who talk about the impact and strategic philanthropy. I don’t know if all philanthropists in India are thinking like this.”
According to her, strategic philanthropy can help organizations and givers to create maximum impact on the ground. Kothari wants more people to be involved in the sector in order to collaborate and accelerate the change. She further adds that lack of authentic data and knowledge is one of the most prominent barriers to strategic philanthropy and we need strong organizations to fulfill this demand.
